LESSON 10 – BIRTH OF JESUS
Lesson 10 – Birth of Jesus (Luke 2)
Where were you all born?
Was baby Jesus born in a hospital?
No, the birth of baby Jesus was not similar to our birth. The birth of Jesus was prophesied years before the incident happened.
As Gabriel informed, Virgin Mary became pregnant. It came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David. To be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was conceived. While they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
We never had the situation to lay down in a manger. But becoming the ruler of the world, Jesus had to sleep in a manger. Jesus, the Son of God, came to the Earth in a humble way. The birth of Jesus gives us the message that we should live our lives in a humble way similar to Jesus. Jesus lives in people who are humble.
In order to commemorate the birth of Jesus we celebrate December 25th as Christmas or Yeldho Perunnal.
