LESSON 6 – ISAAC, THE PROMISED SON
Lesson 6 – Isaac, the Promised Son (Genesis 18 & 21)
The birth of Isaac, the promised son of Abraham, was a miracle. Do you want to know how it happened?
When Abraham was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to him and made a covenant (promise).
- I will multiply you exceedingly.
- No longer shall you be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.
Then God said to Abraham:
- As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.
- I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.
Hearing this, Abraham fell on his face and laughed. He wondered how a man of 100 years and his 90-year-old wife could have a child—he slipped into worldly thoughts.
“Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.”
Abraham greeted three saints who visited his tent. He washed their feet and served them food. One of them said, “Sarah, your wife, shall have a son.” Hearing this, Sarah who was listening in the tent door which was behind him, started laughing. This reveals the fact that nothing is impossible to God. Abraham happily bid farewell to the visitors.
Bible Verse:
Genesis 17:4 — “As for Me, this is My covenant with you: you will be the father of many nations.”
My Decision:
I believe that nothing is impossible for God.
I Believe That:

- God keeps His promises.
- God can change worldly facts.
