Apart from these, Wednesdays and Fridays are observed as Lent. - What are the benefits of observing Lent?
It helps us to give up worldly pleasures, to be victorious over the temptations of Satan, and to have a closer communication with God. - Why is it necessary to fast during Lent?
Fasting helps us to overcome the greed for food, to overpower Satan, and to be drawn closer to God. Our Lord and the Apostles have set an example for us to fast and pray. Fasting reminds us to indulge in spiritual matters rather than being worldly. - Fasting is not recommended on certain days, which are they?
All Saturdays except Saturday, Sundays, Moronoyo feasts and the days when you receive the Holy Qurbana, and the period between Easter and Pentecost Feast.
