LESSON 10: BAPTISM OF JESUS
Lesson 10 – Baptism of Jesus
As John the Baptist was giving baptism, he saw a young man coming towards him. He observed that the man’s face was filled with heavenly glow.
He realized that it was Jesus who was coming towards him to get baptised.
John prevented Him saying, “I need to be baptized by You.” Jesus said, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfil all righteous.”

Then he allowed Him. When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water. The heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying,
“THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED.”
John conveyed the truth that Jesus is the Son of God. John said about Jesus as He is “The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”
As Jesus was baptized, we as little children get baptized and get ourselves filled with the Holy Spirit and become a member of the Church. When Jesus got baptized, heaven opened. When each one of us gets baptized, heaven opens for us also. Don’t you want God to say that you are His beloved? We should obey His commandments, love God, and have fear in God. Then He will say that we are His beloved children.

Note to Teachers:
- We are filled with the Holy Spirit through Holy Baptism. The students must understand that we are born again through baptism.
- The students must realize that heaven is open for us, and the Father is always watching us and we cannot do anything by cheating Him.
